A trip to Auckland Zoo

Here is Bronson's story about our trip to Auckland Zoo:

On Thursday The Block were going to the cool zoo and we had some parents came to help out and we took the bus. And when we got they we went to look at the amazing animals and we went in  our groups i saw a huge big elephant and a cool red panda and it was climbing up on the tree. After that we had morning tea and 3 girl came to take us around the place then we went to the bug lab and it was so fun and they was a slide and a yuck bug and it was so so cool in there the we went to look at some more of animals and i went to look at the big tigers and we go t to look at the funky monkey and the parrot. And then it was time for the block go back to our school.

Swimming Lessons

For the past 2 weeks, The Block has been going to swimming lessons at GI pools. We have learnt so many different skills like how to float on our backs, how to enter the water safely and how to swim freestyle. We have also learnt about water safety. Today we got to use lifejackets!

Omaru Creek Art

Hello 2018! 

This term we are learning about 

'Kaitiakitanga i nga wa katoa'

At the moment, we are learning about how the Omaru Creek has been impacted by pollution. So, we went for a walk down the road and sat beside the creek to sketch it.

We pretended our eyes were like a camera and drew what we could see in front of us. Afterwards, we went back to school and used our sketches to paint some beautiful pictures!
