Stars and Planets

This term we have been learning about Space! We have been doing so much fun space art in room 22. We created our own planets and stars and then painted them. Afterwards, we covered them in colourful, shimmery glitter. We learnt all about how planets are different sizes, temperatures and distances apart.

The Great Space Escape

This term, Pt England School is learning about space. The year 5 and 6's have been thinking about what we'd do if we had to escape planet Earth. What would happen if we didn't have clean air or water? What would happen if Earth flooded? We'd have to find a new planet to live on!

Viliami and Junior's Solar System Rap

This week, team 4 has been learning about the order of the planets in the Solar System. Mrs Stickland had the awesome idea of getting her literacy class to write raps about the planets in the solar system. Viliami and Junior continued working hard on their rap with Mr Somerville for the rest of the day. This is what they produced!

Tha Zin: The Coke and Mentos Experiment!

This term we are learning how to use scientific language. Each time we do an experiment, we will predict, ask questions, discuss and summarize!

Room 13 really wanted to know how high the Coke and Mentos experiment would go so we tested it and it did not go that high at all but all at the end it was so fun.

Ch-ch-ch-ch changes!

This term our school topic is 'Ch-ch-ch-ch changes' . We will be learning all about science and how matter changes.  

On Monday, we kicked it off with the Coke and Mentos experiment. It was explosive!

  

On Wednesday, we made Oobleck. It was crazy how the Oobleck was a solid when you tried to hit it and a gooey liquid when you dripped it slowly. We had so much fun.
